Managing Director, Human Resources

Christine Lacey is the Managing Director of Human Resources for The Concours Group. Ms. Lacey assists clients with a broad range of Human Resources and Organizational Development functions including, but not limited to; policy and procedure documentation, HR forms, labor law compliance, staffing, performance management, training & development, change management, communication and compensation program analysis and design. She has 15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources / Organizational Development and over 25 years of general business experience including; contract administration, accounting, operations audit, total quality management and market research. Ms. Lacey has experience with both public and privately owned companies in the Transportation, Real Estate, Construction and Civil & Environmental Engineering Industries. Her most recent position was as Group Vice President of Human Resources / Organizational Development for a fortune 500 Public Homebuilding Company with $1.6 Billion in assets.

Experience

Ms. Lacey began her career in 1986 with a new Transportation Company headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA called RPS, Inc. She was quickly promoted through the accounting department from clerk to analyst then moved to internal operations auditor. After 2 years of traveling all over North America conducting compliance audits, Ms. Lacey was promoted to Market Research Project Manager. During her tenure, RPS was acquired by FedEx and renamed FedEx Ground. After 9.5 years of employment, Ms. Lacey left FedEx Ground to relocate with her husband to Southern California.

Once settled in Southern CA (1997), Ms. Lacey joined a privately owned Civil / Environmental Engineering firm handling contract administration and assisting in Human Resources. Within 3 months, Ms. Lacey was promoted to HR Manager. During her tenure, Ms. Lacey completed her Master’s degree in Organizational Management / Leadership. In 2000, Ms. Lacey was recruited by a local homebuilder to be their Director of Human Resources. In early 2002, the privately owned homebuilder was acquired by a national public builder, K. Hovnanian Enterprises. Ms. Lacey was asked to join the new company as its Group Director of Human Resources which included oversight of HR and Payroll for California and Arizona Operations. Ms. Lacey was promoted to Vice President in 2004 at which time she took on additional responsibility for Training and Organizational Development. During Market peak (2005), Ms. Lacey was responsible for a staff of 13 and an Employee population over 1, 000.

  • Some of Ms. Lacey's successes have included:
    • Served on the Executive Team as the HR Strategy & Change Management advisor.
    • Drafted communications and coordinated campaigns and training programs during times of great change (including; downsizing, system conversions and merger & acquisition integration).
    • Managed employee assimilation through 3 acquisitions and several business unit mergers.
    • Designed compensation programs that rewarded achievement in a fair and equitable manner.
    • Designed and implemented a bonus database that provided real time access to employees and managers to track bonus milestones and to calculate bonuses in an accurate and timely manner. This database reduced quarter-end processing time from 1 week to 1 day.
    • During growth years, grew employee population by an average of 35% each year (2001 – 2005) utilizing internal and external recruiting methods.
    • Coordinated the alignment of hiring, training and performance management programs to focus on key competencies needed for each job role.
    • During 4 years of downsizing, achieved 100% favorable rulings on claims filed with the Labor Board, DFEH and EEOC.
    • Coached leaders on appropriate conduct in compliance with risk mitigation and labor laws, reducing risk of violation and developing a culture of mutual respect.
    • Established a Training Department that led the organization in innovative, long-term, sustainable training solutions resulting in the establishment of a “learning culture”. Designed Sales, Construction, Service, Communication and Quality training curriculum that helped drive customer satisfaction ratings over 95%.
